We love animals at our house. We have 2 dogs, 4 cats, 2 hamsters, and several dozen tropical fish. That's on the inside. Outside, our property plays host to a plethora of wildlife...everything from mule deer, to foxes, to racoons, to porcupines, to the occasional wandering black bear, to numerous species of birds, and, of course squirrels, which my English Setter finds particularly frustrating since they sit up in the pine trees and taunt her with much loud chattering that drives her crazy. :)
This is Gwendolyn aka Beanie Baby. She's a peke-poo. (This is one of her baby pictures) She's sweet as pie to our family, but protects her mama (that would be me :)) with vicious determination if a stranger comes in the house. She's my baby, through and through.
This is Merry Midnight. She's a beautiful cat with a wonderful, quirky personality...but oh-so-testy when it comes to being touched. My younger son can cart her around all day and she purrs and adores him. The rest of us in the house...hahaha. I can usually pick her up and love on her for a few short seconds before she bites. But anyone else, forget it! :)
My darling Matthias (whom I call Matts). We rescued him from a shelter in the summer of '05. He was approximately 4-6 years old when we adopted him, and is an absolute lovey sweetheart. He sleeps with my older son, or on top of our feet in our bed.
This is Molly. She's a rescued English Setter who's absolutely beautiful and is my husband's girl. She's pretty much always attached to him at the hip and is right with him wherever he goes and cries if he leaves her. :)
And the newest members of our brood...Silverstar (left) and Petal (right). We rescued 4 babies out in the country who were strays and left to wander in coyote land with winter coming on. We kept two, and one of my sisters gave the other two a home. We think they're pretty adorable and pretty perfect. Silverstar is a sweet boy who likes to snuggle, and Petal, who was the only girl in the litter, is small but fiesty! She's in charge, no doubt about it. :)
ML as a baby. I've been told by my family I still make this face when I'm pissy. :)
